Rockatomics is a club that assembles a group of people who are interested in the geological, mineralogical, lapidary, gem craft and precious metal jewelry hobbies.

The society formed in 1962 as an organization of Boeing and Pratt & Whitney - Rocketdyne employees, retirees and their families. It was housed at the end of Fallbrook at a park owned by Boeing.

It was sponsored by Rockwell International and Rockwell Aid Inc. from approximately 1960 until December 1996, and is now partnering with the Foundation for Pierce College.

The club is open to anyone who is interested in joining.

“We encourage all students to participate in the show and join the club,” Levitt said.

A monthly general meeting takes place the second Monday of each month at Pierce College or the Pratt & Whitney/Rocketdyne Recreation Center. Meetings, which are called to order at 6 p.m. and last until 8 p.m., consist of a short business session, refreshments and a program.
